Who we are: A cultural platform committed to celebrating the richness of world cultures through literature and the arts, fostering cross-cultural understanding and creative exchange. Multicultural Press is a registered business (ABN 56 987 205 624) operating independently as a non-government, non-charitable community initiative, run voluntarily and without profit motive.

Our First Chapter: From timeless classics and contemporary fiction to poetry, memoirs, and LGBTQIA+ narratives, we bring together a curated selection of works that reflect the complexities, histories, and dreams of different cultures. Whether it’s Indigenous storytelling, diasporic reflections, or literature from underrepresented regions, we are committed to showcasing the many ways in which stories connect us all.

Our Ethics: Translation is more than just words—it is the art of carrying meaning, emotions, and identity across languages. We work closely with native-speaking translators, editors, and illustrators to preserve the integrity and essence of each work, ensuring that every book remains true to the author’s original vision. We also believe in ethical publishing practices, ensuring that writers, translators, and all contributors receive fair and equitable compensation. Our goal is to nurture a sustainable literary ecosystem where diverse voices can thrive.

Our Mission: Our name, Multicultural Press, reflects our commitment to challenging the dominance of mainstream narratives and celebrating the richness of world literature. We believe that no culture, language, or tradition is ‘minor’—every story deserves to be heard, shared, and appreciated. By publishing literature from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, we aim to foster cross-cultural understanding and ensure that powerful voices from different traditions are not overlooked.
